Science in Dialogue – The initiative of German Science

Because science and research have a significant impact on the life of people, Wissenschaft im Dialog (Science in Dialogue) brings together scientists and people of every age or educational background and advances an exchange and a discussion on science in Germany. The initiative promotes Science and Humanities in Germany with the aim of strengthening dialogue between science and society.

Who we are:

Wissenschaft im Dialog is Germany's centre of expertise for science communication. It was founded in the year 1999 by the major German research organisations on the initiative of the Stifterverband, the business community's innovation agency for the German science system. The initiative is supported by the Federal Ministry for Education and Research and has several partner foundations.

Wissenschaft im Dialog even encourages a discussion on controversial scientific topics. It wants to launch a broadly based debate on topics of social interest.
